Southern Hiker .com

SouthernHiker.com is a site dedicated to the creation of a one stop organized source for all outdoor activities in the Southern United States. This site will attempt to remedy the all too common problem of locating outdoor adventures and knowing what to expect from them.

My expertise in this areas comes from twenty some odd years of hiking, biking, and rafting in the Southeastern United States. I will journal with photos all of the hikes, campgrounds, cycling areas (off-road/mountain biking), rafting/canoeing, etc… that I am involved in each weekend. I will also be reviewing gear that I use, and attempting to provide readers with some insight into what to expect when delving into the world of outdoor adventuring in the Southern United States.  Topics will range from great fall hikes to how to deal with swarms of gnats, and any topic in between.

I would love for this site to become a haven for outdoor enthusiast. Therefore, if you have a favorite outdoor area, please feel free to email me at jcpollard83@southernhiker.com with your contributions, or with requests for me to check the location out. Also, please feel free to leave any comments on inaccuracies, additions, or your thoughts on any area I cover.

Again, the goal is to create a site that provides a one-stop shop for outdoor adventures, and that can only occur with an engaged, involved community.
