I would like to thank Tim Ferriss at the Four Hour Work Week for the template text of this disclosure.

I blog about my hobbies, and believe the information can help people with others with similar interest. At times I collect some money from advertising and through the selling of my photography on this site. As such, I do place advertising on this site to supplement some of my hosting costs and time commitments.

Beginning on December 1, 2009, the FTC requires bloggers to provide disclosures whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations.

First, the obvious: I am an outdoorsman and a writer. While I have never received any free products to review at the time of this posting (January 1, 2010), this may occur in the future. The FTC believes this creates potential conflicts of interest for honest product reviews. I will disclose when products have been given to me, and I will do my best not to let it bias my opinions.

Second, the less obvious: If I interview someone and they grab the bill for lunch, I would need to specify this, as I would if I use an Amazon link that gets me 8 cents instead of an Amazon link that gets me 0 cents. If someone gives me a comfy t-shirt with a logo and I wear it in a photo, ditto. Disclaimers all over.

Methods of Advertisements that I use

Currently, I do make use of Google Advertisements and make no attempts to control the type of ads that appear on this page from Google. I also use Amazon product links, and at times review those products that I have used and/or link to. Google advertisements pay on a per click basis, and Amazon links pay a commission for products that are purchased.

Other Disclosures

While I will try  to make any relevant disclosures as I write an article, this at times may become tedious for me and a continual eye sore for readers. Rules are Rules, however.

So to cover my rear and preserve your reading experience, please assume that, for every recommendation, link, and product I use, the following all hold true:

Please feel free to use the text and images on this page with proper attribution. There is no reason why each blogger should have to reinvent the wheel.
